In 2015, in an active collaboration, the Maruzza Foundation brought together representatives of the principal world religions and faiths with international children’s palliative care experts, human rights activists and the families of children with PPC needs from different cultural backgrounds to formulate and endorse a series of recommendations regarding pediatric palliative care provision. The aim of this initiative was to strengthen global consensus on the perception of palliative care and pain management provision to children with serious illness.
The resulting document was translated into 10 languages and became an important advocacy tool for child-specific palliative care in many parts of the world.
